My opinion is don't upgrade from 7 to 10 in case I haven't made myself clear, which happens according to my wife! I believe Windows 7 was at the top of the list for best all time OS's made by Microsoft. In fact, their version number 2.6 hasn't changed in several years, and the license I purchased in early 2009 worked just fine when I installed it on my new Windows 10 laptop. The unit has software and driver support for all recent/current versions of Windows as well as MAC so if you wanna save time and get the right unit that is suppported and works then go with this unit.If you use any version other than Delorme 2015 with Windows 10 it isn't a good combination. I plan to either use whatever software comes with it to split, or if no software, use GPSGATE or XPORT. I just purchased on Amazon ( ) for around $45 and the older unit is going for around $25 ( ). I wanted to let everyone know there was a better/newer unit on the market for slightly more money. So, after researching everything on the most bang for your buck units that are puck style and NMEA compliant to be able to split into multiple COM ports I decided on the GlobalSat BU-353-S4 which is the new version of the BU-353 but with twice the channels, SiRF Star IV instead of the older chipset version III.

Like others on here I finally broke down and am moving all my computers to Windows 7 64 bit which presents a problem for not only the Serial Emulator software but also the driver for the Earthmate in Windows 7. I have always had the Delorme Earthmate USB GPS puck and always been mostly good using the Delorme Serial Emulator except the flaky nature of the Serial Emulator stopping and having to reset or restart the entire computer. I wanted to append this thread with some new information. If you have any questions after perusing the past material please let us know, but IMHO the only option you have is to purchase a cheap puck online in order to resolve your issue. This comes up quite often and it's a subject that has been covered pretty thoroughly, so hopefully you'll find the answers you need by reading the previous threads. I am venturing a guess that the LT-20 is an older USB version that Delorme no longer manufactures as I was able to find references to it on their support website, but not much else in the way of useful information.
